Climateabad
KLY · muht · uh · bad/ˈklī-mət-ə-ˌbad/
A portmanteau of Climate and Abad (Urdu & Persian for "abode" or "populated place"), representing indigenously-adapted climate education, resilience, and community action across Pakistan.
Founded by Risham Waseem
Risham Waseem is a prominent climate activist, filmmaker, and researcher dedicated to communicating climate change through local, culturally relevant narratives. Recognizing that climate terminology often feels alien to grassroots communities in Pakistan, Climateabad was founded to bridge the gap between global science and local realities.
Through documentary storytelling, nationwide survey research, and community-led waste segregation drives, Climateabad empowers communities across Pakistan to understand, adapt to, and advocate for environmental justice.
